About us

Starting out in 1992 as Oakford Automotive Centre, a mechanical repair workshop in Perth, we had evolved into a hot rod and custom fabrication and repair workshop by 1999. Renaming ourselves Vintage Rod & Custom, from the beginning we offered fabrication and repairs of hot rods, such as custom built chassis and complete vehicle construction services.

We branched out into reproduction Ford A Roadster bodies, offering body and chassis kits. These were short lived, as Vintage Rod & Custom became the backbone of the West Australian hot rod industry by specialising in custom made chassis for hot rod and custom vehicles. We produce approximately forty custom built or modified chassis each year for customers and other local hot rod shops using chassis and suspension components made in-house at Vintage Rod & Custom.

January 2014 sees Vintage Rod & Custom re-release the Ford A bodies with three body styles: Roadster, Roadster Pickup, and Two Door Tourer. They are available as floppy or fully operational bodies on a custom built chassis. Drop by and see us in Perth today to find out more!
